Accra, Ghana, 19-20 November 2018

Their presentation was part of the event’s “Promoting pioneers” series, which highlighted seven projects around the world that addressed antibiotic resistance in both humans and animals.
An expert panel commented on each project afterwards, where ViParc was hailed as taking a pragmatic approach to addressing the overuse of antibiotics in small-scale chicken farming in Vietnam, i.e. incorporating local veterinary pharmacists in their public education efforts given close pharmacist-farmer ties in the country and even though this was not something planned during ViParc’s conception.
The 2nd Call to Action on AMR was co-organized by the governments of the UK, Ghana and Thailand, in partnership with the World Bank, the UN Foundation and the Wellcome Trust. Highlights from the event can be downloaded here.
