Training on Pilot Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance at NCVHI No. 1
Hanoi, Vietnam, 22-25 May 2017
During the 22-25 May, Dr. Juan Carrique-Mas and two microbiologists from OUCRU-HCMC travelled to Hanoi, where they delivered a hands-on training on animal sampling, microbiological isolation, identification and characterization of non-typhoidal Salmonella and Escherichia coli to staff at the National Centre for Veterinary Hygiene Inspection No. 1 (NCVHI No.1). This training is part of an on-going effort supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Results from this training module will be used to refine protocols and procedures for a monitoring programme that will be implemented in Vietnam as part of its National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animal Production.
